Cynda Miles played many roles in the community of Margaret River.
A passionate environmentalist, keen gardener, volunteer and driver of positive change — she was also a much-loved wife, mother, grandparent and friend.
Cynda married her high school sweetheart Peter Miles and the couple became respected community members in Margaret River.
When news of her tragic death spread through town on Friday, many were left shattered.
A Facebook post by Transition Margaret River, a community group Cynda was one the “most active and beloved” members of, paid tribute to her.
“We mourn Cynda Miles and her much-loved family,” the post said. “She was always there for us with a big smile and a warm hug, scones, homemade jam, pots of seedlings, baskets of produce, enthusiasm and love.
“She touched all our lives. We will try to pull together to keep her special projects going.” But as one friend put it: “It will take a lot of energy to fill her big shoes, emulate her big heart and endless generosity.”
