A family returning from a holiday ‘forgot’ their five-year-old daughter at the airport, leaving her behind.
The child, spotted at Germany’s Stuttgart Airport, was reportedly walking aimlessly around by herself before being found by airport officials, according to local news.
Despite making several PA announcements, no adult turned up to claim the girl.
It was found later the girl’s family had accidentally left her behind after returning from a holiday.
Her mother and father each headed home in separate cars – with both believing the other parent had their daughter.
The girl’s mother eventually phoned the airport and her father arrived soon after to retrieve the child.
Police confirmed she was returned to her parents ‘safe and sound’.
