The Bennet family were devastated by the news that both mum, Julie, and dad, Mike, had developed terminal cancer.
Now, in their final moments together as a family children Luke, 21, Hannah, 18, and Oliver, 13, have shared a heartbreaking photo of their parents holding hands.
Hours after the photo was taken, Mike Bennet, passed away after four years fighting a brain tumour.
Mum, Julie, is in hospice care having battled liver and kidney cancer. Despite several round of chemotherapy, she has been told her condition will not improve.
An outpouring of love and support for the family has enabled the children to start a trust fund which will help them stay afloat financially once their mother passes away.
Luke, 21, says: ‘My brother, sister and I are overwhelmed by the enormous support and generosity we have received from so many friends and well-wishers, and it gives my mum a great deal of comfort to hear that we are being so well looked after by the community.’
