A man has had a live gecko removed from his ear after turning up to the doctor complaining of a severe ear ache.
Upon examination, doctors discovered a living gecko had burrowed inside the man’s ear canal as he slept and had become stuck.
Doctors at the hospital in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, China, sedated the gecko and then used pliers to remove it from the man’s ear.
Shocked commentators made one worrying observation: where is the rest of the lizard’s tail?
