A woman was fat-shamed by a spray tan operator who tried to charge her an extra $20 for being a size 10.
The anonymous woman posted the shocking message exchange into a local Queensland Facebook group.
She asked the group if it was ‘normal’ to be charged extra money for being a size 10-12.
After messaging the spray tanner on Instagram, the woman was asked what size she was.
‘I’m a size 10-12 AU, why is that?’ she replied.
The woman then replied: ‘My regular clients are a max size 8. It’ll be $20 extra as there’s more surface area if you know what I mean.’
After receiving the message, the potential client screen-shotted the exchange and asked for advice on the Facebook group, which sparked outrage from many.
‘Yeah hi I saw your post in advice and I just wanted to say that if you don’t want to pay a $20 surcharge maybe lose a little!’ she added.
‘Not trying to be mean, it’s just the industry.’
