A woman has caused outrage after claiming her mother-in-law is charging her family for hosting Christmas lunch.
The anonymous woman, who posted on Mumsnet, told users that her partnerโs mother is demanding $30 per head for food.
โAm I being unreasonable to think you shouldnโt ask family to pay for their Xmas lunch?โ she asked in the parenting forum.
โMy partner has just told me that his mother who heโs having Christmas lunch with said she wants $30 per head from him! Iโm going to my family for lunch so invited him also but he has had it there all his life with his grandparents and siblings too.โ

The woman also said her partner felt it was โwrongโ and offered to bring dessert instead.
Users of the forum quickly became outraged, claiming it was ridiculous to ask people to pay for the lunch.
โCannot think of anything less hospitable than setting the menu and demanding your โguestsโ pay for it,โ one person said.
โAsk people to bring a dish if you are short on cash,โ another suggested.
