When Kane Manning’s dad, Mark Manning, 54, disappeared three years ago, social services couldn’t find anywhere for him to go.
So, his father’s friend, Colin Gale, took in the then 16-year-old in for a few weeks, according to The Daily Mirror.
But unbeknownst to Kane, Gale had killed his dad in a fight after a dispute over a £150,000 debt owed to him.
With the help of his friend, Stewart Robertson, Gale disposed the body in dense undergrowth before telling police that he had given Mark a lift to the train station.
The now 19-year-old called Gale a ‘scumbag’.
According to The Daily Mirror, Gale was jailed for 15 years and eight months for manslaughter and preventing lawful burial, while Robertson was sentenced to four years behind bars for preventing lawful burial.
