Tristan Potts was just 15 when he opened fire on his sister, Teresa, in the home of their adoptive parents in Missouri, USA, reports the Joplin Globe.

Investigators testified that after shooting Teresa, Tristan fled into the woods and planned to destroy the house and run away to the state of Georgia.

Lists of ‘supplies’ were found that supported the claim Tristan was planning to run away, as well as evidence on Facebook that he had made a friend in the nearby state.

While Tristan is still a teen he will be placed in a juvenile rehabilitation program until he turns 21, when it will be decided if he should continue to be held in prison.
