Dramatic controlled explosion at a London bus stop turns out to be a sandwich.
Police were alerted when locals saw a brown paper bag left unattended at a public bus stop.
Meanwhile Twitter user, Adam J Smith, was attempting to walk through that area. Confronted with a police barricade, he shared a photo suspecting that a controlled explosion was taking place.

When he was finally let into the area, Adam shared what he saw – which looked to be not so much a dangerous explosion but more like someone had thrown a sandwich into a ceiling fan.

Okay. Suspicious package was a pesto sandwich which has been splattered all over this building. #Borough pic.twitter.com/YBjIcpizeM

Standing at the bus stop chuckling to myself as I keep seeing more evidence of the sandwich explosion. #Borough pic.twitter.com/yjLXaaNMQ5
