The Brisbane owners of a Maltese terrier, known as Scruffy, returned to their Brisbane home to make the devastating discovery that the dog had died in horrific circumstances.
According to police, the 17-year-old dog had been attacked my an unknown person who had taken a towel, tied one round Scruffy’s neck and the other to a plant before leaving the dog to perish.
It is thought poor Scruffy was attacked sometimes between 10.30am and 3.00pm.
Queensland police are now hunting for the person who committed the attack, which they describe as ‘sickening’.
