‘I can be stubborn.’

Eloise Barnette, 75, was in hospital surrounded by friends and family saying their final goodbyes when the difficult decision was made to turn off her life support.

She had been suffering continuous organ failures, and was unresponsive.

After switching off her life support, her doctor waited for nature to take it’s course.

Eloise, it seems, had other ideas when two days later she opened her eyes.

‘She opened her eyes and started talking to me!’ laughs Doctor Matt Wooten.

When asked about her recovery, Eloise says frankly;

‘I can be stubborn, but i have determination.’

‘Don’t give up, don’t give up.’

She’s now returned home and will continue physical therapy as she recovers.
