Police have spent the night searching an area near Mt Macedon, north of Melbourne, after a ‘badly decomposing’ body was discovered yesterday.
Karen Ristevski’s family are holding their breath while homicide squads and detectives investigate the remains of a body found near where police recently searched for their missing wife, and mother.
The body was discovered by a bushwalker under a log and its identity is yet to be confirmed. No information about its gender has been revealed.
Karen’s nephew Chris Ristevski told the Herald Sun he was ‘shocked’ at the news.
‘I’m still trying to take it all in. Obviously you fear the worst but we will just have to wait and see if it’s her.’
