This is the inspiring moment a man who became paraplegic after a motorbike crash climbed the stairs at his graduation and walked across stage.
Paul Jenkins, 27, was left in a wheelchair after a motorbike accident in 2006 but for the past six months he’s been learning to use a robot-like ‘exoskeleton’.
On Tuesday, the University of Canberra student beamed as he achieved two dreams in one day – graduating with two bachelor degrees and walking to collect them.
He received thunderous applause from the 600-strong audience.
‘I was concentrating pretty hard but I took a moment to take it all in and it was pretty amazing looking out at the crowd,’ Mr Jenkins told the Canberra Times.
