The body of Sydney woman Preethi Reddy was found in a suitcase after she had been missing for three days.
Police believe Preethi, a 32-year-old dentist, was stabbed to death by her ex-partner Harshwardhan Narde.
Narde, 34, was questioned by police the day before Preethi’s body was discovered.
That night, Narde was killed in a head-on collision near Tamworth on Monday night – in an act NSW Police believe was ‘deliberate’, according to News.com.au.
Preethi’s body was found in the suitcase, which was hidden inside the boot of a car on Tuesday evening.
Police allege Narde stabbed Preethi to death in a hotel room in the Sydney CBD on Sunday, before putting her body in a suitcase and driving it to the eastern suburbs.

Friends and family of Preethi sent Narde worried messages after she did not return home on Sunday morning.
Preethi’s sister Nithya released a heartbreaking statement following her tragic death.
‘Words cannot capture the pain we are feeling with the passing of my beautiful big sister,’ she said.
‘Preethi was a bright light, loveable, kind, and protective of all whom were lucky enough to have been loved and cared for by her.’
