New mum Neshra Krishnamurthy is fighting for her life in hospital after being run down in the Melbourne Bourke Street massacre Friday.
It was the end of her first week back from maternity leave and was just about to return to work from the nearby daycare centre when tragedy struck.
‘She sustained serious injuries, which include deep lacerations to her head, a punctured lung, damage to her liver and kidneys, as well as broken ribs and fractures to her spine in three different places,’ her colleague Tanvir Chowdhury wrote on a MyCause page to raise funds to help the family.
She remains in critical care with her husband by her side while family friends look after the baby who, thankfully, was uninjured in the attack.
