A 35-year-old Sydney mother is facing court charged with poisoning her 7-year-old son, leaving him fighting for his life.
In 2014, the young boy was admitted to hospital with ‘breathing problems’. However his condition soon worsened, and he was diagnosed with sepsis. The condition is serious and can cause death, however the boy managed to recover.
Following a three-year-investigation by the Child Abuse Squad, the boy’s mother has been arrested and charged with the alleged poisoning her son, with intent to cause harm.
Her child has been placed in alternative care.
