Twins are tragically diagnosed with breast cancer just weeks apart

This is tragic

A pair of twins have both been tragically diagnosed with breast cancer, just weeks apart.

According to a GoFundMe page, Hanna Thompson, from San Francisco and Metta Siebert, from Kansas City, have both been struck with the devastating disease.

The 35-year-olds created a fundraising page for support during their illnesses.

Ms Siebert discovered a lump in her left breast in June and had a mammogram that confirmed she had cancer.

Ms Thompson then saw she had a lump in her right breast but assumed it was clogged milk as she was breastfeeding her son.

But because of her sister’s recent news, she decided to get a mammogram, resulting in her also receiving a diagnosis.

On the page, they said, ‘As kids, we used to do everything together, evidently the Universe wanted us to keep that tradition going.

‘As you can imagine, both us and our families are reeling from this one-two punch diagnosis. This has been incredibly difficult, and we are hoping to focus on treatment and healing.’

The pair are now planning to have chemotherapy and radiation trearments.

Dr Pamela Munster explained to ABC 7 that it wasn’t that unusual for twins to get similar cancer diagnoses.

But said that it was unusual for them to be diagnosed around the same time.
