A chance meeting with a little boy may have inspired Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to name their son Archie.
During their official royal visit to New Zealand last October, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex greeted hundreds of locals who came to get a glimpse of the newlyweds.
One of the children Harry and Meghan met was a little boy from Auckland named Archie Somerville-Ryan.
Young Archie spoke about his incredible encounter with the royal couple, revealing that Prince Harry admitted he loved his name.
'Harry asked me and my sisters, "What’s your name?" and then we answered back, "Scarlet, Beth, and Archie," the boy told Channel 5 news in the UK.
'And then he said, "Archie, I like that name".'
Harry was so impressed with his new friend, he called over his wife Meghan to meet little Archie.
After meeting the Duke and Duchess, Archie said he and his mum wondered whether they'd found their baby name.
'When it all ended, my mum said, "Imagine if they call [the baby] Archie!"' he added.
And when Harry and Meghan introduced their son to the world, Archie said he was chuffed by the name choice.
'Mum said, "Guess what, Arch? Meghan and Harry’s son is called Archie!" and I’m like, "What, really?!'"' the little boy said.
