Police are reportedly investigating the suspected gang rape of a woman in Uppsala, Sweden after the three-hour long attack was broadcast on social media.
According to The Sun, an online witness claims she saw the victim being stripped and sexually assaulted by several armed men via a live stream on a closed Facebook group.
The attack only ended several hours later after police - who were tipped off by a horrified viewer - arrived at the scene and turned off the camera. The victim was allegedly close to unconscious while the assault took place.
A member of the closed Facebook group told the Swedish publication, Expressen: 'I first thought it was a poorly orchestrated joke.'
Another viewer added: 'the first thing you think Is how can you do such a thing to a girl? And how can you do it live when you know that you are going to go there?'
'I think of course it is screwed, totally sick.'
According to reports, three people have been arrested over the incident, with the woman thought to be recovering in hospital.
