Try these great tips for a fresh beauty look this Spring

With the arrival of spring, is it time to shake up your skin care regimen? What could be a better start to the season than to revive and rejuvenate tired-looking skin, ready for the summer season when we will hopefully be showing much more of our faces, and some other parts of the body too! Take a look at our five great tips for getting yourself looking radiant and ready for springtime.

1. Scrub

Winter can cause season-long build-up on your skin — a combination of dead skin cells, leftover beauty products, and environmental toxins — which is why most dermatologists recommend exfoliating in the new season to get rid of that old dead, winter skin. And exfoliation isn't just for your face — our whole body begs to be pampered with a good exfoliating scrub. Whether you are seeking to rejuvenate dehydrated skin or getting prepared to apply tanning products, proper exfoliation is key.

D’lumiere Esthetique skincare range by Dr Daniel Lanzer utilities all the proven ingredients such as AHA, vitamins A and C that are needed to rejuvenate skin and repair sun damage.

2.  Hydrate

You’ve probably heard this before, but the easiest way to hydrate your skin is to keep your body hydrated from the inside. It’s also good for your heart and your kidneys, so make sure you are getting your two litres of water a day. If you fancy a change, try some green tea or fruit infusions; they will also make sure your fluid intake stays on course.

Check that your skincare products are not too heavy for your skin; some creams can actually be too rich! Make sure you have the right moisturizer for your age and skin type, such as D’lumiere Esthetique with SPF and add some extra moisture with a weekly face mask. If you fancy a natural approach, simply mash the flesh of a ripe avocado with a teaspoon or two of avocado oil and apply to your face for five minutes for smooth and hydrated skin!

3. Use seasonal produce

Spring is a great time to trade in the heavy comfort foods of winter for plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. In-season produce provides huge nutritional value, and as an added bonus it is also incredibly tasty. Blend yourself a smoothie for breakfast; assemble a salad for lunch and snack on crunchy raw vegetables. Vegetables and fruits deliver the vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants you crave to look and feel fantastic. While fresh is always best, many frozen fruits and vegetables still also pack a punch in the goodness department, so have some on standby in your freezer.

4. Detox your bathroom cabinet

Just like your wardrobe, your beauty products need spring-cleaning. Make time to sort out your makeup and skincare products and throw any away that are past their prime, or you don’t love. Old cosmetics and creams can lose their effectiveness and even harbour bacteria, so there is no point in hanging on to them. Only keep products you actually use.

5. Have a mini facelift

Let’s face it, there may be a time when you feel that scrubs, creams and lotions or changing your diet may not make enough of a difference to your appearance. In that case, it may be worth looking into having cosmetic surgery. Mini facelift surgery is one of the most common types of facelift surgery performed today. It takes care of wrinkles and sagging skin, can restore definition to the chin by removing excess tissue, or artfully tighten tissue in other parts of the face. A skilled cosmetic surgeon like Dr Lanzer can tailor a mini facelift procedure to give you a youthful, more refreshed look that accentuates your natural beauty and boosts your confidence.

Dr Lanzer is an expert when it comes to modern cosmetic procedures of the face. His focus is to achieve natural-looking results for his patients. With over 25 years’ experience and offering hundreds of facial procedures – from facelift procedures including dermal fillers, through to fat transfers – you can book a free facelift consultation in Sydney or Melbourne to explore the best procedures for you. And because our duty of care to you is paramount and all surgery has risks, and Dr Lanzer recommends a second medical opinion.
