WPXI reported how in the clip, which was posted to Snapchat, the tot can be seen inhaling the device at the home in St. Clair Township, Pennsylvania.
Police say that the 17-year-old and 18-year-old teens who were also at the home did nothing to stop the boy, instead choosing to film the disturbing moment.
At one point, the toddler can be heard coughing and spluttering.
Police were alerted about the video by an anonymous tip-off, which led to an investigation.
Both teens were taken into custody and child endangerment charges are currently pending against them. It was also reported to the local child welfare agency.
The mother of the child spoke to WPXI, stating that she is ‘disgusted’ by the incident.
She said, ‘I’m very upset. I’m in disbelief that they would even laugh or have it in reach of a child’s possession.
‘I’m not trusting anybody anymore to babysit my child. I’m done. I don’t even want to put him in daycare. I can’t trust anybody anymore.’
