An elderly woman and her disabled daughter haven't been seen in three day, with police now ramping up their search.
Elizabeth Stephens, 89, and her daughter Judy Stephens, 53, from Benalla in Victoria, were last seen on Sunday afternoon ordering a meal at the Tatong Tavern.
Owner Christopher McCabe said the women told him they were 'visiting a relative for dinner that evening', so they would just order something small.
'They did not seem distressed in any way. Elizabeth is a reserved elderly lady but Jude is a bit more outgoing because of her intellectual disability,' he told AAP.
But when they left in their white car, this was the last time they were seen.
'The circumstances are out of character for the women,' Benalla Local Area Commander Inspector, Troy Hargadon, said.
'There is nothing to say they have been met with foul play.'
However police are particularly concerned for the mother and daughter's safety, due to Ms Stephen's age and her daughter's intellectual disability and insulin dependence.
