Ingredients
125g butter, softened
1/2 cup caster sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 1/2 cups plain flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
250g packet of dark, milk or white choc bits

Preheat oven to moderate 180C (160C fan forced). Line two flat baking trays with baking paper. Place the butter and the sugars into a bowl. Beat with electric beaters until light and creamy.

Add vanilla and egg, and beat to combine. Sift flour and baking powder and add to the mixture, stir to combine. Fold through choc bits.

Roll heaped tablespoonfuls of mixture into balls and place onto a lined baking tray. Flatten slightly then bake for 15-17 min or until pale golden.

Once the cookies have baked. Let them stand on the tray for 10 min, then when firm, cool completely on a wire rack before storing in a airtight container.
