Police get called to a lot of strange jobs but even they were surprised when they found an allegedly drunk 51-year-old woman trying to ride a horse through a bottleshop drive-through in Queensland.

They’ve even released video of the unusual arrest as a way of reminding the public that drink driving can also apply when you’re on the trot.

Officers were called to the Logan bottleshop about 11.30pm after the tavern owners had repeatedly asked her to leave.

It’s not known whether she was foaling around or if the late night outing was a spur-of-the-moment idea.

The police saddled with the job called for back-up to rein in the situation.

Officers noticed the woman appeared un-stable.

She was arrested and taken to Logan Police Station where she was allegedly found to be more than four times over the legal limit and will face court next month.

Police have reminded any neigh-sayers that drink driving doesn’t just mean a vehicle, it can also include a horse.

Advice straight from the horse’s mouth.
