When Colombian woman Sandra Almeida found out her husband had been cheating on her, she decided to leave him.
But after he demanded half of the money she’d been saving for a holiday, Sandra swallowed more than $13,000!
Soon she was rushed to hospital with excruciating stomach pain, and surgeons recovered $5700 worth of $100 bills still in good condition.
The rest had been broken down by stomach acids and, in the words of chief surgeon Dr Juan Pablo Serrano, would be ‘evacuated by normal means through the patient’s intestinal movements.’
