Currently, Her Majesty employs around 1,500 people and you’d think that those working for the royal family would enjoy a perk or two around Christmas time.
It’s been revealed that the 91-year-old Monarch gives her employees a Christmas pudding to take home to their families, Yahoo Be reports.
According to the royal family’s official site, the Christmas tradition was started by Queen Elizabeth II’s grandfather, King George V, and has carried on for decades.
However, recent reports state that the Queen is actively trying to cut costs. Originally the royal family would source their gifts from luxury retailers, including Harrods and Fortnum & Mason, but this year has opted for a more on-budget product.
Reports claim royal employees will be receiving a pudding from Tesco.
More specifically, Tesco’s Finest Matured Christmas Pudding will be gifted to each employee. The pudding retails at £8 or AU$14.
Who doesn’t love a Christmas pudding!
