A new portrait of the Queen and Prince Philip has been released to celebrate their 70thwedding anniversary.
The new picture comes ahead of Monday’s celebration, where the royal couple will mark their platinum anniversary with a private dinner with family and friends at Windsor Castle.
The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh are the first royal couple to celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary, and the bells of Westminster Abbey, where they married in 1947, will toll to mark the special occasion.
In the newly released image by celebrity photographer Matt Holyoak, the pair are stood side by side, with the Queen wearing a cream day dress designed by Angela Kelly – her personal assistant and dressmaker since 2002 – and the Duke wearing a tweed jacket, tie and smart blue chinos.
The royal couple pose inside Windsor castle and the image is just one of a set to be released.
