Seventeen-year-old Hamish was at the McDonald’s fast food outlet in Baldivis around 10pm on Monday night with a group of friends when they were confronted.

Police say Hamish was stabbed five times in his ribs, chest, neck and stomach before being rushed to Royal Perth Hospital, where he has undergone surgery to try and stem his internal bleeding.

Hamish’s family say the teen and his three friends were confronted by two teens armed with knives in the fast food restaurant.

The group then tried to flee on foot but were chased about 800 metres down onto Norseman Approach.

Hamish was able to make it to a neighbour’s home and scream for help.

The neighbour, who did not want to be identified, said she and her partner came out of their home to a horrific situation.

She said they had to fight off the armed duo before they could help Hamish.

“I lost my phone so I couldn’t even call an ambulance,” she said.

“I’m driving this boy to the hospital thinking, ‘I’m going to lose him’ because his wounds were so serious.”
