Strangers have stepped in to help an Australian woman after she made a desperate plea for food on social media.

Kayla Bryce, from Perth, recently lost her and was left with nothing to her name after paying her utilities bills.

The 20-year-old had been surviving on a bag of white rice, but when it run out, she asked for help on a Facebook community group.

In the post, she wrote, ‘I really hate to ask but I feel like it’s my only option left. I am 20 and I’ve been struggling financially the last few weeks.’

She continued, ‘I have just lost my job at a call centre and I’ve been so caught up with my utility bills, I haven’t been able to buy food.’

Kayla explained that she had to wait another two five days until she received her fortnightly government benefit money.

But luckily, hundreds of kind-hearted people reach out to help the woman, dishing out free food coupons, tips on where to get free meals, offering to deliver her food and pay for her groceries to be delivered.

One person even offered to trial her for a job!

And other good Samaritans even said they would travel at night to bring her a home-cooked meal.
