It’s only night two of The Block, but already tensions are reaching boiling point between the contestants.
On Monday’s episode, viewers watched on as Georgia was reduced to tears following a showdown with model Elyse Knowles and her carpenter boyfriend Josh over money.
Georgia and her husband Ronnie won the first renovation challenge of the season and as part of their prize they were given the opportunity to ‘steal’ from another team’s budget.
But when the pair strategically chose to dip into rival couple Josh and Elyse’s kitty, the news wasn’t well received.
“So ours is a bit of a strategic move and we think you guys are pretty amazing, pretty capable and so were going to just have to take $8500 from your budget,” Georgia explained.
But Josh was quick to hit back: “Wouldn’t expect anything else from a couple like you guys.”
Despite Ronnie’s apologies, the couple continued to lash out.
“Good luck guys,” Josh spat, with Elyse adding: “Have fun getting all that rubbish.”
As part of their winnings, Ronnie and Georgia were also allowed to choose which house they wanted to restore throughout the competition. But as it turned out, the one they picked contained the bedroom Elyse and Josh had previously renovated – and left their trash in.
“You want to have some good ideas, it’s a big week,” Josh quipped.
“It’s a game. You guys have proven you guys are players, so. It’s going to be a long three months.”
“I can’t stand when people are mean, that was mean,” Georgia responded.
“How about you be a nice person, give that a go!”
