Sara Zelenak confirmed as second Australian to die in the London Bridge terror attack

Her mother made the sad announcement.

The mother of Brisbane woman Sara Zelenak has confirmed the sad news that her 21-year-old daughter has passed away in the London Bridge terror attack.

Zelenak, who was working in the UK as an Au pair, is now the second Australian confirmed killed following the tragic attack.

This morning, Australian’s Foreign Minister Julie Bishop addressed the heartbreaking loss of “two beautiful young women”, however she did not mention Zelenak’s name.

“We continue to work with the United Kingdom authorities who have asked that we await official confirmation of the identities of the victims, and for the families to be official notified, before we release their names,” Ms Bishop said in her statement.

The family of South-Australian nurse Kirsty Boden, 28, also confirmed her passing on June 06.

“The Australian Government has remained in close contact with the families who have requested privacy,” Bishop also stated.
