Workers at the a nearby timber factory in the town of Paddock, South Africa, heard cries and followed the sound to a grave made if sand and timber, reports Daily Mail.
When the baby was found the mother, 25, came forward and admitted that she had tried to kill her baby because she was scared of her parents reaction to her having a second child.
The baby was taken to intensive care at a regional hospital. There is no news on whether the mother will be reunited with the baby.
