A Sydney beach-goer made a gruesome discovery in a toilet block at a coastal beauty spot.
After finding a severed finger on the floor, they handed it in to police who launched a hunt for the owner.

After they drew a blank searching their fingerprint database, officers turned to Facebook.
Thanks to social media the “young owner” was identified, and it was revealed they’d lost the finger tip when they trapped their hand in a door.

“It’s not often you get body parts handed in off the street,” Chief Inspector Dean Lindley from North Sydney police, told the Mosman Daily.
