When new mum Sara Heller was 24 weeks pregnant, a scan revealed her baby boy would be born with bilateral cleft lip and palate.
As soon as little Brody arrived, Sarah, who is from Nebraska, was determined to share his beautiful smile with the world and raise awareness about the condition.
She started posting snaps of her son on Instagram and Facebook, and while the response was overwhelmingly positive, Sara and her partner Chris also faced some negative comments.

However, a trip to a restaurant last month restored Sara’s faith in humanity.
As she dined with friends, a waiter approached with a napkin.
Sara was stunned to discover a cheque for $1,000 folded inside and a note saying ‘for the beautiful baby.’
The money was put towards Brody’s first surgery on January 3, which Sara described as Brody saying goodbye to his first smile, and ‘hello to his forever smile.’
The adorable three-month-old is healing well and already sporting his new smile.
