A mother has faced court after leaving her baby in her car while she had a massage.
In August this year, the 26-year-old Queensland woman locked her two-month-old in her vehicle with the windows wound up while she had a 45-minute aromatherapy massage at The French Beauty Academy in Robina.
The child was found in a distressed state and emergency services were forced to cut open the roof to reach the baby, 7 News reported.
The mother pleaded guilty in court, with her lawyer arguing she was ‘struggling with a lack of sleep’ since the arrival of her baby girl.
She was sentenced to nine months probation, with no conviction recorded, and ordered to attend parenting classes after the Magistrate found there was no material evidence she was suffering from post-natal depression.
