Mum involved in fatal school smash breaks her silence

Her lawyer has issued a statement.

The mother reportedly responsible for the tragic car crash at a Greenacre primary school that claimed the lives of two eight-year-old boys has spoken out.

Widow and mother of four, Maha Al-Shennag is horrified over the incident and is ‘deeply sorry’.

Al-Shennag is said to have been charged with dangerous driving occasioning death and negligent driving after her Toyota Kluger crashed into a Banskia Road Public classroom early Tuesday morning.

Her lawyer, Nick Hana has stated Al-Shennag is in a state of deep shock.

Hana said: ‘Ms Al-Shennag is deeply sorry for the loss and hurt suffered by the children, the school, the families and the community.’

‘Her thoughts and prayers are with all those affected.’

According to The Daily Telgraph police are ruling it as a tragic accident and believe that Maha Al-Shennag was not under the influence of any substances. 

Staff and children have since returned to the school this morning, with many of the suburb’s community continuing to pay their respects to those lost.
