A video has emerged, captured by CCTV, of a woman giving birth inside an elevator.
The footage shows a full lift of people looking down at something happening in the bottom lefthand corner of the shot. The lift doors open and the people hurriedly exit the lift.
Once the spectators disperse, a different camera angle reveals hospital staff waiting outside the lift doors.
Nurse, Lin Jun, who can be seen delivering the baby, said the baby’s head was already showing: ‘It was already too late to go to the delivery room.’
In the first camera angle, you can see a nurse bending over and as she stands, you can see that she’s holding a baby. The lift doors open again and someone else carries the mother, still attached to the baby and the foursome – mother and the person carrying her, along with the person holding the baby – exit the lift.
Li Fengling, who operates the lift inside the Wenshang County People’s Hospital, in East China, said the heavily pregnant mum-to-be entered the lift looking like she was in ‘a lot of pain.’
Thankfully, despite his frantic entry into the world, the baby boy was in a stable condition weighing 2600g.
