One of the most hated figures of the late twentieth century, evil former cult leader Charles Manson, has died age 83.
Manson, who became the face of evil after his role in inciting the murders of a string of innocent victims in the LA area – including heavily pregnant actress Sharon Tate – died after apparently succumbing to gastrointestinal issues.
Manson lead a group of followers, widely referred to as the Manson Family, to indulge in an orgy of killings that he apparently hoped would spark a race war. Nine people, including Tate, were killed over a five-week period in 1969 – in crimes so cruel and shocking that they have never been forgotten since.
Manson was found guilty of conspiracy to commit the murders, and failed to ever make parole – spending the rest of his life in prison.
