A 61-year-old man has been charged with killing his pet dog with an axe.

Detectives in Esperance will allege the man attacked his two and a half year old Labrador border collie cross with an axe on Saturday.
The dog died as a result of its injuries.
The 61-year-old Nulsen man has been charged with cruelty to animals and will appear in the Esperance Magistrate’s Court on May 15.
