A postal carrier in Alabama is facing up to 10 years in jail after being accused of stuffing nails inside of meatballs that she then fed to a dog.
The Madison County Sheriff’s office found that Susanna Dawn Burhans, 47, had fed at least one dog the deadly treat. but investigations are underway to determine if there are other victims.
‘We gathered intelligence from the Postal Service and put everything together,” sheriff’s Captain Mike Salomonsky said, reports al.com.
‘Right now, we know for sure there’s one dog. But there’s another neighbor that had a complaint, so there might be two or more.’
Burhans was charged with aggravated cruelty to animals and is yet to face court.
