Australian sports icon Ken Catchpole has passed away at age 78.
Catchpole, a champion half-back, played 27 Tests from 1961, including 13 as captain, and is praised as one of the country’s best rugby players.
He was inducted into the World Rugby Hall of Fame in 2013.
It is reported that Catchpole died after battling a long illness.
The former Wallabies captain star is immortalised with with a sculpture of himself at Sydney Football Stadium.
