House Rules: Dumped Troy and Bec had one last thing to say

The pair’s final words as they leave the show after a dramatic run.

After a season that’s seen them split up on TV, angrily clash with other teams and aggressively confront the judges, Troy and Bec’s departure from House Rules was always going to be one to remember.

But those expecting angry scenes of abuse and four-letter fury are in for a surprise, with the western Sydney couple revealing in a post-eviction interview that they are feeling philosophical about being the first team to get the boot.

‘I’m proud of Bec and I’m proud of myself,’ Troy says. ‘We weren’t ready to get off this ride, but unfortunately we have.’

With tears flowing in a post-eviction video chat, Bec confessed she didn’t want to leave the show, to which Troy added, ‘I don’t want to go either; I’m not ready to say goodbye. ‘

Despite some highly dramatic scenes – including a temporary breakdown in the couple’s relationship – Bec claims that she ‘loved every minute’ of the show, ‘through the highs and the lows.’

She further explained, ‘We proved to ourselves, and proved to my daughter, you can do whatever you want to do, and you can achieve whatever you want.

‘Don’t let anyone tell you, you can’t do it, because you can.’

While Troy has been the centre of many dramas – including the memorable incident where he stormed off set during the judging process – he claimed to be happy as he took in his ejection from the show.

‘Believe it or not, I actually feel good,’ he said. ‘We’ve found this experience to be so rewarding because of all the hard work we did.’

However Troy’s long-time adversary Fiona had a rosy sign off of her own for the pair, confessing, ‘I felt like saying ‘f— off’.’
