In the most agonising op shop fail ever, a grandmother claims she lost $25,000 after she mistakenly donated the cushions she used to store the cash in.
The 76-year-old from Perth says she dropped off the two pale printed cushions to the Salvation Army store in Fremantle in May.
When she realised her mistake a couple of weeks later she returned to the shop but the cushions had been sold.
‘I’ve got a little bit of money in the bank, which I use to pay my bills, but this money was my security to help my kids if they needed anything desperately,’ she told PerthNow.
‘I never ever touched it. It was there more like an inheritance really. I’m just hoping someone will be honest and let me have it back.’
A reward is being offered for the return of the money.
