The 37-year-old had her three young children, aged nine, seven and three in the car when she crossed on to the wrong side of the road and collided with a parked car in Bonnet Bay at 8am on Monday.

The woman, who is believed to be a school teacher, then managed to get the car back on the right side of the road, before stopping and crawling out of the wreck, leaving her children in the vehicle.

Witnesses say the children were seen getting themselves out of the car before police arrived. They conducted a breath test on the woman which she failed, reportedly blowing 0.367, more than seven times the legal limit.

She has since been charged with high-range drink driving and had her licence suspended.

“This woman has endangered not only her own life, and the lives of other road users, but also the lives of her own three children with this incredibly irresponsible act,” said NSW Police Inspector Steve Worthington, as reported by Nine News.

She has been granted conditional bail before she is expected in court on May 3.

Family and Community Services have been notified about the incident, reports Yahoo7
