It was just another day at Daniel’s Demolitions. They’d been given 200 Marion Street, Bankstown to bring down today and they got stuck in.

Unfortunately the owner of the house, Steve Ballas, had no idea that this was happening. In fact, like the demolition crew he had no idea that his house – labelled 200 Marion Street – was not in fact 200 Marion Street.

Instead, Steve’s property was actually 198 Marion Street but the entire time he had owned the property he had thought it was 200. Even to the point of sticking ‘200’ to his letter box which ultimately was his downfall.

It is unknown how he had come to believe he owned number 200 – the City of Canterbury-Bankstown confirmed Steve’s notices were posted to 198, and his house was next to 196.
