Cold-case breakthrough over death of Gold Coast cheerleader Breeana Robinson

A man has been arrested

A man has been arrested over the murder of a 21-year-old cheerleader, who died after falling from a balcony in 2013.

The 45-year-old man is expected to be charged with the murder of Breeana Robinson, a legally blind Gold Coast Titans cheerleader who fell from an 11th-storey balcony.

The man, who is widely reported as being Breeana’s ex-boyfriend, was arrested by Gold Coast Police on Friday.

‘The investigative team has left no stone unturned in identifying the circumstances of Breeana’s death, demonstrating the passage of time is no escape for offenders,’ said Detective Inspector Brendan Smith.

Breeana’s family has been calling for an inquest into her 2013 death.

More to come.
