An employee at a Philadelphia daycare centre has been fired after CCTV captured the dramatic moment she pushes a 4-year-old girl down a flight of stairs.
Disturbingly, she glances up at the security camera before grabbing the child and walking her down the stairs.
The newly installed security system was being watched by colleague Shawayne Tavares who approached the employee, Sarah Gable, 52, immediately after.
‘I go confront her, and I said, ‘What are you doing? We don’t do this to children,’ Shawayne told CBS News.
The little girl apparently knocked her knee in the fall, but is otherwise okay and returned to daycare the next day.
Parents were apparently shocked to hear of the incident, since Gable had 25 years experience in childcare and the kids seemed to like her.
She was fired on the spot and faces charges of assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
