The alleged Aussie drug smuggler will now face up to 30 years behind bars if she is proven guilty.

The Nine Network report that the Judge who handed down the verdict, Sergio Leon, was not interested in the 22-year-old Adelaide woman’s deal which would see her jail term reduced by six years in return of the names of those involved in a drug smuggling ring.

This decision comes after Sainsbury claimed that she has only agreed to board a flight with the 5.8kg of cocaine hidden in her suitcase because her family members had been threatened.

More to come on the developing story.
