A bride-to-be has caused outrage online after her bridesmaid invitation was dubbed ‘stupid’ and ‘offensive’.
While many women choose to send sweet invites asking friends to be bridesmaids on their big day – one woman took it a step too far.
Shared to a ‘wedding shaming’ Facebook group, the invitation was a pregnancy test with the words ‘I’m late’ written on it, next to a note which reads ‘Asking you to be my bridesmaid.’
While the anonymous bride may have done it in the name of fun, many people were quick to slam it as being insensitive.
Facebook commenters pointed out it was inconsiderate to make fake pregnancy jokes.
‘Fake pregnancies and pregnancy pranks are never funny. Have a thought for people who can’t get pregnant or are suffering miscarriage – not something to make a joke of,’ one woman wrote.
‘Ugh this would really hurt me. Hope none of her friends struggle with getting pregnant,’ another said.
One woman even joked she would pee on the stick and return it with a ‘negative’ symbol, indicating she was refusing the bridesmaid request.
