Stuart Heath was riding his bike around Port Lincoln’s Centenary Oval when he was thrown from his bike, gasping for breath, reports 7 News.

He had ridden into a rope that was tied between a flagpole and the fence line.

Recalling the incident, his mother, Katherine, said her son couldn’t breath.

It might not have been for a long time but it was something that really shook him,’ she told 7 News.

After arriving at hospital, Stuart’s injuries were thankfully minor, though his painful burns make it difficult for him to turn his head.

Katherine intends to contact the police about the incident – certain that several kids at the oval that day set the trap on purpose, egging Stuart on and then fleeing when he got hurt/

‘I think the kids might’ve done it just for a bit of fun and didn’t realise what harm it could’ve really had,’ she said.
